Funding to complete the Library

 
We have already raised over LE 1,170,000 (Egyptian Pounds) and the outer shell of the Library is now completed, together with the internal partitions, flooring and wall finishes.
The Monastery has been a place of contemplation and study for almost 1500 years, set apart in the stillness of the desert. The library collections are a working part of this heritage, used daily by monks. As a visitor, of any faith or none, one cannot fail to sense the great antiquity of the place, or the beauty and the value of the manuscripts we aim to save.
  
We are very grateful for the support we have received from the Headley Trust, from the Association for Culture Exchange, and other Foundations and individual donors, and from the Monastic Council itself.
 
We now need to raise the final LE 2,872,000 (Egyptian Pounds) to complete the project. Details are as follows:
